Bio
Michael Zaretsky, AIA is an Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Architecture, and Interim Director of School of Architecture and Environment in the College of Design at the University of Oregon. Zaretsky has extensive experience in local and international design/build projects with a focus on interactive community engagement. His research and scholarship addresses how high-resourced groups that are working in lower-resourced communities can engage with local communities as a productive partner. He is the design director for Village Life Outreach Project Inc., a Cincinnati-based non-profit that partners with communities in rural Tanzania to address life, health and education.
